A Wall is a Screen from Hamburg, Tromsø International Film Festival and Tromsø Municipality, invite you to experience both film and the city center in new ways. It’s a unique film happening, taking place at both well-known and unknown places, and we promise: it will give you some fresh perspectives.

A Wall is a Screen creates a new context for the moving image. This site specific screening of short films transforms the public space into a pop-up open air cinema. The artist group based in Hamburg, will shed a different light onto the facades and buildings and transform the nightly city into a special one time venue.

Art is a priority for the Tromsø Municipality as part of the city planning in Tromsø. Both artists and contemporary art itself should be able to influence the city. This art project is focusing on the oceanside, with site-specific art integrated with the city space. A Wall is a Screen will direct us, the audience, towards the water. Discover some new angles of Tromsos common and uncommon places. This temporary symbiosis between film and architecture will create surprisingly new perspectives. Experience the city in a new way, just show up, and come along!

Kunst og byromsprosjektet langs sjøfronten is a collaboration between the Municipality of Tromsø, KORO (Art in i Public Spaces) and raumlaborberlin.

The tour is for free, duration is about 90 minutes and it will take place in any weather
