Radio Lux: DJ Blondie and DJ Møller return to TIFF for his year’s closing party with their stack of 7-inch 45rpm singles from the haydays of pop music (the 60’s). Bring your dancing shoes and join the party!
Charlotte Bendiks: A DJ, a producer, and a positive thinker, she spent the last years exploring music, people, life and places. From her home town Tromsø, where she ran her own clubseries, actively shaped the Insomnia Festival, and released two records on Mental Overdrive’s Love OD label, to Cologne, where she cooperated with artists like Coma, Lena Willikens, and developed a long lasting mutual love affair with the Salon des Amateurs. She has been traveling ever since and played, danced, loved, and laughed her way around the globe- from Buenos Aires’ infamous Dengue Dancing Parties, to festival sites in Hanoi, Montevideo, Marseille, and Berlin.
Karin Park: After several albums, Karin Park has established herself as a prominent player on the Norwegian electronica scene, but she is still not afraid to boldly go into uncharted territory. She’s toured extensively in Europe and is known for her unforgettable live performances. Her music digs deeper and deeper into the atmospheric dark soil for each passing year, where she plants seeds with heavy beats and lyrics about life’s ups and downs, set to pop-driven melodies and catchy choruses. The essence of her artistry is constant: a unique ability to move the listener with who she is and what she stands for. Karin Park performed to DIE NIBELUNGEN alongside Årabrot at the Silent Film Days in 2016. At this year’s fetival she is also part of the band performing live to BY THE LAW.
Cleaning Women: «A bunch of well-dressed cross-dressing zombies.” This is how they describe themselves, the band that hardly needs an introduction to the festival audience in Tromsø. This trio from Finland has been here many times before, performing at both TIFF and the Silent Film Days. They’re known for their instruments, made up of anything from washing machines to clothing racks. Their sound has been called industrial disco-rock, psychedelic, and art-punk, and mainly originates from the first time they provided the soundtrack for a sci-fi film.
