Club 7 was the undisputed centre of Oslo's counter-culture in the 1960s and had a lifespan of more than twenty years. A creative intellectual melting pot, this Norwegian club was unparalleled in its cultural impact and its ability to raise banners against conformity.
CLUB 7 is a symphonic and associative documentary, exploring the life and times of an institution that has been described as twenty years of continuous improvisation.
Directors Even G. Benestad and August B. Hanssen have collaborated for many years, and CLUB 7 is their second co-directed effort. In 2011 they directed the feature documentary PUSHWAGNER. Benestad has previously directed the feature documentaries ALL ABOUT MY FATHER (2002) and NATURAL BORN STAR (2007), whereas Hanssen was involved in the development of both these films.
