Vele drops out of college and gets a job as a mechanic at the local train depot, all to be able to take care of his father Sazdo who has cancer. Vele is desperate because he can’t afford the expensive medications his father needs. One day he stumbles upon a package of marijuana hidden on the train by dangerous criminals. He steals it, hoping to make money by selling the contents. As luck would have it, Vele turns out to be a total loss as a drug dealer, but he excels at baking a cake with a secret “healthy” ingredient and lying about it.
Farcical complications ensue, but Vele’s real challenge is confronting his father with a deeper secret: the true damages of a family tragedy years before that has scarred both of them. The film is a precise social commentary built around humanly fallible characters of the most lovable sort. Guilty Balkan pleasure!
